3M DBI/SALA 8518670 Advanced Series Basic Winch with bolt-on plate and 40 feet of stainless steel cable for use with Advanced Series Basic Hoist System and Portable Fall Arrest Davit Arm.  The Basic Winch is designed to extend and retract a lifeline from a drum for attaching to a person who is entering or exiting a confined space.  The Basic Winch includes a permanently mounted handle to the 5:1 hub drive with an average speed of 30 ft/min.  The handle is durable, simple to use and features a foldaway crank.  The winch is designed with a double redundant braking system to hold the line in any position.  The winch comes with a load limiter clutch that activates when a short free fall has occurred and while brakes are engaged.  The clutch will slow the fall gradually until it comes to a complete stop.  The winch has a brake wear indicator to constantly monitor the condition of the braking mechanism.  When the indicator moves from the green into the red portion of the scale, remove unit from service.  Comes with 40 feet of 3/16 inch stainless steel cable with a locking snap hook.
