Martor 124001 Merak Retractable squeeze grip safety cutter. Merak is the most recent addition to the Martor Smart Knives series of safety cutters. The fully automatic blade retraction system, activated by a squeeze grip, provides a high degree of safety because the blade retracts even when the squeeze grip is totally depressed. The blade on these cutters retracts safely into the handle as soon as contact is lost with the material being cut or the cut is completed, even if the user keeps the squeeze grip depressed. Under normal use, the blade will alway retract keeping the user's hands free from accidental cuts. A design using high quality plastics in a convenient and ergonomic shape is the key to efficient work practices. That means low-fatigue work practices and high productivity for the company. Thanks to the shallow cutting depth of 11 mm the risk of damage to the contents is minimized when cutting into cardboard boxes. Designed with a squeeze grip, this knife is perfectly suitable for both right and left handed users. This facilitates user-friendly, high-frequency cutting with low fatigue rates. The blade is released for cutting by pressing the red lever. The blade is changed without any special tool and without dismantling the knife. An integrated magnet prevents the blade falling unintentionally and becoming damaged. Engaging the red safety button protects the user against the blade being unintentionally extended. This guarantees maximum protection against injuries when the knife is not in use, or during transportation. Comes with # 92 double edged 4 use blade for increased blade operation time. This knife easily cuts up to double walled cardboard, plastic box strappings, cardboard boxc adhesive tapes, foil and plastic bags, stretch wrap, shrink wrap, paper and sheet material and more.
